A couple of actors are being attached to the role of Cable for "Deadpool 2." According to the latest rumors going around, Liam Neeson and Kyle Chandler are being considered to play the Merc with a Mouth's frenemy.

Jeff Sneider of Mashable revealed on the latest episode of Meet the Movie Press that Chandler's name has been "floating around for Cable for months."

Although Sneider warns fans that this is not set in stone yet, "Deadpool 2" director Tim Miller is reportedly set on Chandler for the role.

According to reports, fans just do not see Chandler as Cable as they wanted Stephen Lang for the role, but Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefield says that fans should calm down, have faith on the people in charge and see how it all turns out.

"I don't know Kyle Chandler. I don't know him. I don't know if he's ever going to play Cable, but we would be so lucky to have an actor as talented as Kyle Chandler, who has been in Martin Scorsese movies," Liefield told Nerdy Pop.

"Kyle Chandler is one of the best actors in Hollywood. People trip over themselves to work with him. If, by chance that rumor was true and the production was lucky enough to get somebody as talented as him, I would just trust in the people that gave you Deadpool to figure that out for the best," he continued.

Meanwhile, The Wrap is reporting that "Taken" star Liam Neeson is also being eyed as Cable for "Deadpool 2" with Heroic Hollywood adding that while Chandler was the first choice with Miller all up for it, "the studio wants a movie star."

Miller reportedly does not want Neeson and is fixed on Chandler. As per Nerdist, Neeson is wanted for "Deadpool 2" as he can carry a possible Cable solo film and even lead the planned X-Force movie.

SlashFilm says that in terms of resemblance and the ability to get effectively into the character of Cable, Neeson has it in the bag, but it is "not the most unique" casting.

"Deadpool 2" is set for a 2018 release.
