'Gotham' season 3 episode 6 spoilers: Mad Hatter taunts Jim; Penguin and Nygma get closer

"I'm gonna find you," Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) tells his tormentor, The Mad Hatter (Benedict Samuel) in next week's episode of "Gotham." | YouTube/Gotham

Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) will have to make the toughest decision of his life when he gets forcefully invited to a mad tea party in next week's episode of "Gotham." Also, it looks like the city's fate may not be decided by Penguin (Robin Taylor Lord) after all, but by the people who will manipulate his trust to serve their own purpose.

Jervis Tetch aka The Mad Hatter (Benedict Samuel) has been deeply consumed by a desire to avenge his sister's death and is now even more hard-pressed at taking out all of his anger on Jim. The official episode preview shows the villainous Mad Hatter taunting Jim by calling the bounty hunter to witness the death of random people he couldn't have had a chance to save.

Midway into the preview, Jervis lets Jim decide who's going to die next between his current flame, Valerie Vale (Jamie Chung), and his former fiancée, Lee Thompkins (Morena Baccarin).

"Who do you love?" Jervis asks his captive guest, pointing his gun to the two women, shackled together at the ankles, on each side of Jim.

It seems like an easy question to answer, but if Jervis is going to kill the woman he loves, then who will Jim eventually choose? Will he even need to decide, or can help possibly arrive in the nick of time?

And now that Lee is engaged to the son of Carmine Falcone (John Doman), will the former head of the Gotham City mob get involved in the hunt for The Mad Hatter?

The brief episode synopsis on TV Guide also mentions how the relationship between newly elected mayor Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) and Edward Nygma's (Cory Michael Smith) will evolve and how their trust for each other will deepen, as they rule Gotham City side by side. But is Ed's intention free of any hidden agenda, or is there truth to what he said to Butch Gilzean (Drew Powell) about wanting to kill the mayor so he could take over as the sole ruler of the city? Will his true intentions be known when someone from his past returns to haunt him?

"Gotham" season 3 episode 6 titled "Follow the White Rabbit" airs on Monday, Oct. 24, at 8 p.m. EDT on FOX.
