With a definite theater release date to assure them that "Jurassic World 2" is a go, fans are wondering what the impending second installment has in store for them.

Several reports have claimed that the sequel to 2015's biggest hit will have the experts experimenting on smaller dinosaur versions that can be domesticated as "pets" at home to keep families entertained. This angle of the story may see military organizations, as well as toy companies, becoming involved with said development, especially after the InGen Technology, an open-source technology meant to explore various possibilities between animals, particularly dinosaurs and humans, was discovered.

News Every Day also reported that the possibility of using the hybrid dinosaurs for professional fighting (and fighting alongside humans) might also be explored in "Jurassic World 2," but because these scaly creatures are serving a military purpose, this angle might not develop.

In a previous interview with Screenrant, writer-director Colin Trevorrow said the concept of "Jurassic World 2" is based on Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing's (Bryce Dallas Howard) discovery of a Pandora's Box containing said InGen Technology.

He also revealed that "Jurassic World" and "Jurassic World 2" are the first two chapters in a multi-installment story arc, and while he won't be calling the shots for the sequel, he would be returning as co-screenwriter to Derek Connolly.

Meanwhile, "Independence Day" actor Jeff Goldblum, who played a notable role in the 1990s' "Jurassic Park" and "The Lost World: Jurassic Park," told Daily Mail that he never received word that he would be reprising Dr. Ian Malcolm's character in "Jurassic World" even during its pre-production. Although his character was not included in the 2015 blockbuster, he told the publication that he is satisfied.

"If I never did anymore, I'd be entirely nourished and happy and fulfilled from having done these. They're doing spectacularly well without me," he said.

Pratt, Howard, and BD Wong, who play Dr. Henry Wu, will reprise their respective roles when "Jurassic World 2" hits the big screen on June 22, 2018.
