Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole new album 2016 news update: Happening in last quarter of this year?

There have been a lot of collaboration projects among huge hip hop and rap artists today, although it is very rare in some occasion for a joint album to actually happen. In the case of Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole, the public has been waiting for the developments of their much-awaited collaboration since it was first reported in 2013 that they are down to do an album together. However, there are new reports that the collaboration of the two biggest rap artists today may happen in the coming months.

According to The Bitbag, Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole have been very busy for the past few months with their individual tours and music projects. However, the online publication noted that the release of their collaboration album in the last quarter of this year will not be surprising. Moreover, there are other big names in the music industry who believe that the Lamar and Cole collaboration is still a go.

A well-known music producer in the industry, Cardo, revealed in an interview with Complex that the collaboration album between Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole is still happening, in spite of the speculations that the two no longer have time to brainstorm together for new beats.

Cardo also said the Cole is such a great artist to work with due to his positive attitude. He shared his working experience with the rapper from the first time he met him until they finally got close and had their good moments together. He also revealed that he is a huge J. Cole fan himself, and he is looking forward to the rapper's future projects.

Meanwhile, Top Dawg Entertainment president Dave Free said that even though there are a few problems causing a delay in the Lamar-Cole collaboration, there is no enough reason to think that their project will not happen anymore. He even said that their album is still possible to be released this year, MTV reported. This supports the idea that the album will be released in the fourth quarter, sometime in October to December.

"Everything's a possibility, but I 'ma say this, too: Kendrick and Cole are in a place in their careers and in their lives where they have to keep going. Of course, they're two of the biggest rappers out, but they still have to keep grinding. There's so much work that they have to continue to do," Free said in the interview.
