Amid the previous reports that the much-anticipated collaboration album of today's top rappers Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole is no longer happening, a bit of good news suddenly came in the person of music producer Cardo. While there have been no confirmed reports from both camps regarding the development of the joint album, Cardo has revealed that one of the two artists may have already been digging deeper into the project.

According to a report from Complex, Cardo has revealed the one time he and J. Cole were talking and the latter mentioned about a possible music project that he is currently busy working on.

"I connected with Cole when I was working with my guy Matt. He was like, 'Yo, J. Cole needs some beats.' He ended up taking like two or three beats. And then he was like, 'J. Cole wants to talk to you. Here's his number.' I ended up talking to J. Cole and had like a 30-minute conversation just talking about music and everything," Cardo said.

Based on Cardo's revelation, it seems that J. Cole's new project is already under way.

"I thought that was the dopest sh*t as well because I'm a fan of J. Cole's music. He said he's got this record and just needs the files, so I ended up sending him files and this and that," Cardo added.

However, those fans who are rooting for J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar's collaboration could not be so sure for now that J. Cole's new project is actually his album with Lamar. According to DJ Booth, Cardo did not indicate the exact album that J. Cole is presently working on. As the Bitbag stated, Dreamville's president, Ibrahim Hamad who is a close friend of J. Cole would have already spilled some details about the collab album by now, if the said project is still a go. Also, J. Cole's camp has still not shared new details about the album.
