'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend' season 2 release date, cast news 2016: 'Pitch Perfect' star & 'Jane the Virgin' actress join
Two stars from "Pitch Perfect" and "Jane the Virgin" will be joining the cast for "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" season 2 this Fall.
Brittany Snow, who played the role of Chloe in "Pitch Perfect," will be joining The CW's hit musical romcom for three episodes. Snow will portray a character named Anna, a fun and stylish beauty entrepreneur from Los Angeles who goes into town to shake Rebecca's life up. Lead star/co-creator/ writer Rachel Bloom announced Snow's casting through a video she posted via Twitter with the caption: "In honor of @brittsnowhuh appearing on #crazyexgirlfriend this season I made a super high production value music video."
Yael Grobglas, who currently stars in The CW's "Jane the Virgin," will also be on board this season for a guesting role. Grobglas has been cast as Trina, a driven young businesswoman who hired Rebecca (Bloom) to represent her firm. Their interesting new dynamic will lead Rebecca's life to take a different and unexpected course. Keeping true to the show's genre, both Snow and Grobglas will have a musical number in season 3.
Season 1 left off with Rebecca and Josh (Vincent Rodriguez III) taking their relationship to the next step and finally sleeping together. Unfortunately, Josh's best friend Greg (Santino Fontana) became one huge roadblock after he fell in love with Rebecca. Though not much is known about how the story will play out in season 2, there are speculations that Greg and Rebecca will try to figure things out.
There is also a possibility that Josh's former girlfriend Valencia (Gabrielle Ruiz) will now be dubbed as the "crazy ex-girlfriend." Now that Josh and Rebecca's relationship is moving forward, there is a chance that she will not let go of Josh easily. After years of being in a relationship with Josh and knowing Rebecca's true motives, she may become desperate to win Josh back.
"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" season 2 premieres on Friday, Oct. 21 at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
