'Bones' season 12 episode 12 spoilers: Brennan to be caught in an explosion; showrunner keen on bringing back the show
Brennan (Emily Deschanel) will be harmed by an explosion on the series finale of "Bones." Meanwhile, executive producer Michael Peterson is eager to bring back "Bones" beyond the upcoming series ender.
Peterson's long-running series, "Bones," will be coming to an end with the 12th episode of season 12, titled "The End in the End." On the final episode, Brennan will find herself harmed by an explosion at the Jeffersonian.
As seen from the episode 12 promo, Booth (David Boreanaz) is looking for Brennan under piles of rubble at the Jeffersonian that had been bombed.
"Stay with me. I love you. Don't forget that," Booth tells Brennan.
With Brennan out of the game, her team will have to work on the case to catch Kovac (Gerard Celasco) without her guidance and expertise.
"With Kovac still at large, the team searches for evidence to track him down. After Brennan experiences a setback, the rest of the team must figure out how to find Kovac without her, putting everything she has ever taught them to the test. When all signs point to Kovac having outside help, as well as a hideout, Booth and Brennan go searching for him," the episode listing on The Futon Critic reads.
Based on the listing, it seems that Brennan won't be out for too long as she and Booth will be the ones hunting Kovac down.
Meanwhile, Peterson shared with TVLine that he refuses to accept that "Bones" will be ending on its final episode, which is scheduled to air next week.
"I don't want to leave. And the idea of having some kind of reunion in a year or two... I would not rule it out," the executive producer revealed.
He also assured that all the cast members of "Bones" will be eager to return if they come up with a reunion or a reboot of the show.
"Bones" season 12 will air its 12th and final episode on Tuesday, March 28, at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
