'Once Upon a Time' winter finale spoilers, release date: Are the Charmings returning to the Enchanted Forest?

Are the Charmings returning to the Enchanted Forest for the winter finale of ABC's fairy tale-themed TV series "Once Upon A Time"? The initial photos released by the network showed the family looking regal, definitely not in their usual get-up.

The photos showed Emma (Jennifer Morrison), Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Charming (Josh Dallas) in exquisite clothing, fit for royalty. The family were all wearing fur, and the King and Queen were wearing their crowns. Emma's son, Henry Mills (Jared S. Gilmore), was not exempt from the picture. The teaser showed that Henry wore a knight's armor in the winter finale.

The logline for the episode read: "When she learns that our heroes possess a weapon capable of defeating her, the Evil Queen steals Aladdin's magic lamp from Jasmine and makes a wish that could sideline the Savior forever. Unwilling to wake Snow while Emma is missing, David works with Hook and Henry to hold the Evil Queen at bay in Storybrooke as Regina goes on a rogue rescue mission."

Executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis also teased that hope will be seeping into the season, following the series of difficulties they all had to face in the previous episodes. The execs teased that hope will come in the form of a wish. Like any form of magic, it will come with a price which all of Storybrooke must pay. They will be made to traverse new worlds, old loves and an inevitable fate.

To add to all the upcoming commotion, Gold (Robert Carlyle) and Belle (Emilie de Ravin) will be facing new challenges that have to do with their newborn son, as if they hadn't had enough trouble. To recap, last Sunday's episode finally revealed Gold's mother, which consequently unveiled the truth behind his preference of dark and evil. History will be repeating for Gold, as he will once again lose a son.

The winter finale of "Once Upon A Time" premieres on ABC on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 8 p.m. EST.
