Particularly, the rumors suggest that the game studio has been working on additional playable characters to be included in the main roster. While Blizzard has not yet confirmed the arrival of new DLC characters in "Overwatch," there are hints that the big reveal will happen in the upcoming Blizzcon event this year.

The game director of "Overwatch" himself, Jeff Kaplan, revealed that a new "Overwatch" hero will be introduced in the game very soon. In fact, his team is already doing internal testing on the upcoming character, according to iTech Post. Even though Kaplan did not mention the name of the potential "Overwatch" hero, it has long been rumored that the mysterious fighter Sombra will be the next featured character in "Overwatch." Moreover, several alleged leaks of the character have already circulated online. The leaked images of Sombra resemble a Latina woman with a unique hairstyle and warrior suit. Sombra is also depicted to have a purple trenchcoat and an Uzi-like submachine gun.

Meanwhile, there are other rumored characters aside from Sombra that will be included in the next DLC update for "Overwatch." It was also rumored that Athena will also become a playable character in the next update. Blizzard has not yet confirmed the new lineup of characters, if there was one indeed, although it is likely that the big reveal of DLC characters will happen at the Blizzcon 2016. The huge gaming event by Blizzard will take place from October 16 to 17.

Nothing is confirmed yet regarding the future "Overwatch" heroes and their release date, although the players still have more reasons to enjoy the game with the arrival of a Halloween-themed event this week called the "Halloween Terror." As reported by Game Rant, Blizzard will be providing loot boxes present in the game throughout the duration of the event, each having more than 100 Halloween-themed items for each "Overwatch" character. These items can come in the form of a new skin, spray, highlight intro, victory pose, player icon, voice line, or additional game credit.

Moreover, the "Halloween Terror" event will also feature a special game mode called the "Junkenstein' Revenge Brawl," wherein four players will be teaming up to fight several flocks of undead creatures, known as "the army of Dr. Junkenstein." The zombies will try to destroy the gates of Dr. Adlersbrunn's castle as they spread terror along their path. The players must choose from Alchemist Ana, Archer Hanzo, Gunslinger McCree, and Soldier 76 to use against the undead army.

"Overwatch" is playable on PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
