Popstar Justin Bieber is reportedly aiming to make a comeback to the charts with an album that would contain "Christian-appropriate" songs to mirror his religious beliefs.

According to The Sun, the 24-year-old singer is back in the studio to work on his fifth studio album, and he is reportedly looking out for Christian-centric songs after reconnecting with his faith through Hillsong Church.

"Justin is on the lookout for songs which really reflect where he is in his life in terms of spirituality," a source close Bieber said.

"He has always been religious but the last two years have seen him grow closer to the Hillsong Church and it has changed his entire life. He has a totally different outlook now," the source continued.

The source noted that Bieber has not expressed interest in recording any music for a while, but he was "revitalized" during his time with the church, and he is now "reshaping his sound so it is more in line with the church's values and beliefs."

"There are key themes of love and redemption in the tracks he has created so far. It will certainly surprise some fans," the source added.

Bieber's break from music follows several untoward incidents, including an arrest for throwing eggs at a neighbor's home and driving under the influence of alcohol. Since that time, he has been seen in numerous photographs attending Hillsong Church New York and with its pastor Carl Lentz who baptized him.

Speculations have swirled at the time that Bieber had canceled the remaining 14 dates on his Purpose world tour because he wanted to "reconnect with his faith" and possibly start his own church. The singer, however, denied the rumor and stressed that he just needed to rest after spending two years on the road.

The Canadian singer is believed to have recently split from on/off girlfriend Selena Gomez after they reconciled at the beginning of the year.

Some have blamed the split on Gomez's mother, Mandy Teefy, who is known for her disapproval of Bieber. But one source claimed that the couple "have their own issues" and Gomez's mother had nothing to do with her decision. The insider further noted that the couple has "always been on and off," so a reunion is not totally out of the question.

Despite the split, the pair has been seen attending church separately in Los Angeles earlier this month.

Bieber, whose last album "Purpose" was released two years ago, is reportedly not planning to make a comeback until the end of this year or early 2019.
