The upcoming third game in the Overlord series is called "Overlord: Fellowship of Evil," a game that will be played from a top down perspective, which would be a new format.

Codemasters, the game developer, made the announcement on Thursday.

In the upcoming game, it said players will not play anymore from the perspective of an Overlord but instead will take on the role of any one of four minions called "Netherghuls."

In addition to these undead servants, the minion horde will be controlled by minion master Gnarl who is going to be voiced again by Marc Silk. Gamers can either play in an online or offline co-op play mode.

As for the four top minions, they were revealed to be Inferna, who is a warrior; Malady, a necromancer; Hakon, a dwarf; and Prince Cryos, the Dark Elf. Each of them will be assisted by a number of subordinate minions who were revealed to be rather dim-witted but come in handy when players use one of the characters in the single-player mode.

The game plot was crafted by Rhianna Pratchett, who was also involved in scripting the first two games in the series.

The first game "Overlord" landed in the summer of 2007 and its sequel was released in 2009.

In 2013, Codemasters revealed that it was working on a sequel for the game, but this was put on hold because of the impending release of the next generation consoles the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

"Overlord: Fellowship of Evil" does not have a specific release date, but it is due to land this year for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and will be priced at $19.99.
