After years of hiatus, "Prison Break" surprised fans when a fifth season was announced. With all the twists and turns of the story, fans are excited to know where the showrunners will take them this time.
According to online rumors, the upcoming season will have a time jump and pick up 5 years after Michael Scofield ("Legends of Tomorrow's" Wentworth Miller) "died" of brain cancer. His wife Sarah Tancredi (Colony's Sarah Wayne Callies) starts a new life with a new husband (Royal Pains' Mark Feuerstein) to accompany her in raising her child with Michael.
Little did she know that Michael is not dead, hence she teams up with Michael's brother Lincoln and devises a plan to execute "the biggest escape ever." In terms of the setting, Fox co-chairperson/CEO Dana Walden confirmed to TVLine that the series will take place in a foreign location. "The story unravels on an international landscape — it's not a domestic [plot]. We open on a very international contemporary-feeling story," she stated.
In an interview, Callies expressed her feelings in reprising her role as Sara Tancredi after all those years. "It's such a fascinating, creative challenge to resuscitate something that I buried such a long time ago," she said. "There has been a lifetime for me between the end of Prison Break and now, the whole Walking Dead world. My son wasn't even born, my daughter was just a baby. I feel like a completely different person," Callies added.
Joining the new cast members is Israeli actress Inbar Lavi, who landed the role of Sheba. Sheba is an activist/fixer/operator who will have an involvement with Lincoln Burrows. As of the moment, no confirmation yet from the showrunners if their involvement with each other will be romantic or not. Also landing recurring roles in the Fox drama series are Augustus Prew (Klondike), Rick Yune (Marco Polo) and Steve Mouzakis (I, Frankenstein).
