'The Elder Scrolls 6' release date, DLC update rumors: Bethesda dismisses rumor of game's announcement during E3 2016

The much-awaited new entry to the highly popular "The Elder Scrolls" game franchise may not be having the spotlight in the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 in June. It was recently reported that Bethesda, the long-time game developer of the popular video game series, will be unveiling a new DLC pack in the said event, instead of an entirely new follow-up game.

Reports have said that Bethesda is planning to unveil the DLC pack for the online-based game of "The Elder Scrolls" titled "Tamriel Unlimited." The company will not likely make two big announcements during the same event, and it is more likely that the big reveal that a lot of fans have been waiting for at E3 2016 will not be "The Elder Scrolls 6."

The rumors about a follow-up "Elder Scrolls" video game sparked when Bethesda posted a teaser photo on Twitter, which hints on the projects they will be unveiling during E3 2016. The Twitter photo of Bethesda shows a group of all game characters from their video games. One of those characters drawn in the photo is a known character from "The Elder Scrolls." Because of this, many fans have speculated that Bethesda is going to unveil the sixth installment of the franchise during the said event. However, the upcoming DLC update for "The Elder Scrolls Online" may actually be the one pertained to by the Twitter photo.

If there is anything to appease those fans waiting for "The Elder Scrolls 6," the Vice President of Bethesda Softworks himself, Pete Hines, has stated that the company still has plans to do another "Elder Scrolls" game. However, during his interview with Neuro Gadget, Hines said that they were "100% focused" on "Fallout 4" last year. In an interview with the Telegraph, Hines also mentioned that the sixth "Elder Scrolls" video game will roll out in the future, although Bethesda is not considering to rush into its production. While the development of "The Elder Scrolls 6" does not appear to happen in the near future, there is a hint that Bethesda will be working on it given the right timing.
