Fans of the "The Elder Scrolls" series may find themselves asking the same question over and over again: When will the next installment be released? According to the latest reports, Bethesda Games Studios' main focus at this time is on their other existing video games and their expansions.

This is definitely bad news for players who have been waiting for the company to announce the arrival of "The Elder Scrolls 6: Skyrim 2." However, many fans are still hoping that the company is planning for a big announcement at the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016 in June at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Meanwhile, longtime fans of the series may have taken other disappointing news when video game designer Todd Howard backpedaled from his previous statement when he said that the company is currently working on three "big and crazy" projects.

"I should have never said a number because we have so many things," Howard said during an interview with Game Industry. "You could add it up in different ways. You could say it's bigger or smaller. They're a long way off. I think the larger point was, no one should expect to hear about those [games] anytime soon. We always overlap projects. We just have more going on now than we had before."

There are also reports that the reason why "The Elder Scrolls 6: Skyrim 2" is being stalled is because of the latest rollout of "Fallout 4." Rumor has it that the company has switched their attention to the new game and its current and future expansions.

Nevertheless, all these information came from speculations from fans and critics. As of the moment, nothing has been confirmed yet by the company. However, there are also reports suggesting that Bethesda is planning a release of "The Elder Scrolls 6: Skyrim 2" in 2019.
