Lucifer is coming back with a vengeance when "Supernatural" season 12 airs a new episode next week. As rock star Vince Vincente (Rick Springfield), he will soon realize the power he can wield with a microphone and a leather jacket.

After Rowena's (Ruth Connell) treachery sent his new vessel to the bottom of the ocean in a decaying mess of flesh and bones, Lucifer somehow managed to survive, lick his wounds, and plan his next course of action. Unfortunately, this plan could potentially involve the death of a handful of Vince's fans if Lucifer ends up having his way at a secret VIP concert he will be organizing.

Luckily, the angel Castiel (Misha Collins) and the demon Crowley (Mark A. Sheppard) are on to him and will be enlisting the Winchester Brothers' help to derail Lucifer's plans, as teased by the episode preview.

Titled "Rock Never Dies," the episode brings the cavalry to the underbelly of the music industry even as Castiel wonders if Lucifer can even sing. Will the Prince of Darkness be able to harness Vince's talent and influence to send more souls back to hell and show the Winchesters' crew who's boss? How can Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padaleckiz) save the people at the concert, when all of them are already taken by the devil sans supernatural influences? Is rock about to die for good, or will it become Lucifer's most powerful weapon against humanity?

When it was announced at this year's San Diego Comi-Con that Springfield will be playing the new Lucifer in "Supernatural" season 12, executive producer Robert Singer shared that Lucifer would find his new vessel the most comfortable yet. But it was this very fondness that brought him to his first defeat when he demanded the witch Rowena to make his new vessel stronger and permanent, and Rowena pulled a fast one on him by accelerating the body's decaying process and sending him away.

Will Lucifer go after Rowena once again, make her a deal she can't refuse, if only to keep Vince as his permanent vessel? Or will he be after her purely for vengeance?

"Supernatural" season 12 episode 7 airs on Friday, Dec. 1, at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
