The production team for BBC's "Doctor Who" has begun filming for the upcoming Season 9 of the show. BBC earlier announced that Jenna Coleman and Peter Capaldi are to appear in recurring roles as Clara Oswald and the Doctor, respectively.

Steven Moffat, showrunner for "Doctor Who," announced the appearance of some guest stars for Season 9. He said, "Amazing guest cast for a brilliantly creepy two-parter by [episode writer] Toby Whithouse. Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman are back in Cardiff, back in the box, and back in action -- for one of our scariest adventures yet!"

Some actors scheduled to appear in the show this Season 9 include Arsher Ali, Morven Christie, Sophie Stone, Zaqi Ismail, Steven Robertson and Neil Fingleton.

Paul Kaye, a comedian who has also appeared in "Game of Thrones," is to appear in the first two episodes. In an interview, Kaye expressed her delight about being part of the show. "As a kid of the 1970s, the two shows you always watched were Top of the Pops and Doctor Who, they were unmissable," she said.

She added, "I actually wrote a song called 'Looking for Davros' in my first punk band and I sang it like a demented Dalek. I got to present TOTP back in the mid '90s and landing this role in 'Doctor Who' completes the dream double. Peter is a perfect Doctor, and I'm loving every minute of the experience, even the five hours in make-up. What a treat, best 50th birthday present ever!"
