In a smartphone market that is now plagued with numerous gimmicks such as the dual-camera setup and edge-to-edge offerings, only a few among the market players have emerged to be the truest of rivals. While Samsung Electronics and Apple Inc. are battling it out on their camera offerings, Xiaomi Mi Mix has remained unrivaled in terms of its massive display features — well, not until Lenovo Phab 2 Plus came into the spotlight.

As such, only Lenovo's recent outing, Lenovo Phab 2 Plus, can officially be placed alongside Xiaomi's latest shocker of an offering. While Lenovo's doesn't have the almost bezel-less aspirations, its screen size is just as Herculean as that of Xiaomi Mi Mix. It comes in a 6.4-inch in-plane switching (IPS) display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. Furthermore, the phablet is sporting a metal unibody and is encased with a curved Corning Gorilla Glass on its front. Moreover, the smartphone showcases a 73.5% screen-to-body ratio.

In addition, Lenovo Phab 2 Plus comes with backlit capacitive keys at its bottom and a notification LED on its top. It is powered by MediaTek MT8783 with octa-core 1.3GHz Cortex A-53. It is supported with a 3GB random-access memory (RAM) and 32GB of native storage.

Optically, Lenovo Phab 2 Plus is also quite a competitor. It houses a dual 13-megapixel (MP) with f/2.0 aperture. Also, it is equipped with laser and phase detection autofocus with dual-LED flash. Meanwhile, an 8MP front-facing snapper is also included; with f/2.2 aperture and 1,080p.

Similar to its predecessor, Lenovo Phab 2 Plus is also armed with Dolby Atmos audio enhancement with Dolby Audio Capture 5.1 and active noise cancellation along with a dedicated mic. The newly unwrapped phablet is also equipped with fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, proximity and compass sensors as well. It is fueled by a reliable 4,050-milliampere-hour (mAh) battery.

Lenovo Phab 2 Plus currently runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and is retailed at $333.31.
