Fans of the Wachowski sisters' science-fiction drama series on Netflix, "Sense8," will be pleased to find out that the stars of the show have been hard at work filming episodes for the upcoming installment. The cast members have been quite the jetsetters, flitting from one country to another. In the last seven months of production, they have covered 16 countries around the globe, including Mexico City, Mexico; Mumbai, India; Seoul, South Korea; and Reykjavik, Iceland.

Crossing time zones could be demanding, but the actors have mixed in a bit of pleasure with filming and have enjoyed immersing themselves into the cultures of the different places they have visited. After their sojourns, the cast touched down in San Francisco, California. Presently, the show has been filming in Chicago, Illinois since June 4.

The reason for all this traveling is because the major characters of the series all live in different places. The main cast play eight strangers, each from another culture and country, and are all "sensates."

In the debut season of "Sense8," viewers found out that sensates are people who are so closely linked emotionally and mentally that they can communicate with other each through the use of their minds. They can also sense each other even though they may be continents apart. They are able to use each other's knowledge as well as language and skills.

Audiences were amazed when "Sense8" season 1 opened with its unique and figuratively out-of-this-world storyline. The show's outing then paved the way for the eagerly expected sophomore season. From reports that have come out, it may be that the upcoming "Sense8" season 2 may eclipse the first installment.

Followers of the series can expect the season 2 to get deeper into the characters' backstories as well as find out what drives each of them. One of these is Sun Bak, played by Bae Doona, a kickboxer whose family is her weakness. Season 1 found her thrown in prison after being wrongfully accused. Season 2 of "Sense8" will go into her search for revenge against her brother Joong-ki Bak who left her to answer for his crime of murdering their father.

Fans can also look forward to Toby Onwumere's version of Capheus, which was played by Aml Ameen in the first season.

"Sense8" season 2 will premiere toward Christmas this year.
