'Teen Wolf' season 6 air date, plot spoilers: Dylan O'Brien to start filming in October? Stiles-less existence expected in upcoming season?
"Teen Wolf" season 6, the final installment in the series, is set to air this November. According to the latest spoilers for the show, fans should expect a Stiles-less season 6, but will that continue the entire season?
Dylan O'Brien, who plays Stiles Stilinski in the series, sustained serious injuries back in March as he was shooting scenes for his movie, "Maze Runner: The Death Cure." As a result, production for the MTV hit supernatural series had to be pushed back to allow time for the actor to recuperate fully.
There were even speculations that O'Brien will be written off the series for good, which many fans deemed unacceptable considering the upcoming installment will be the series' swan song. However, according to Teen Wolf News, O'Brien will finally be back to reshoot for season 6 this October.
Initially, O'Brien was supposed to return to the set in August, but the injuries he sustained were no joke, so he was given enough time to recover from them totally. At least, the upcoming season will close with both O'Brien and Tyler Posey (Scott McCall) in it.
Entertainment Weekly (EW) recently shared "Teen Wolf" season 6's official poster, which features Scott and Stiles in it, although they were prominently separated by a lightning bolt. The symbolism is surreal, as it obviously has something to do with what Stiles went through during the final minutes of season 5 when the Ghost Riders abducted him.
Incidentally, the Ghost Riders will be season 6's biggest villain, and they will particularly target Stiles. The Ghost Riders have the ability to erase someone from the memory of his friends and loved ones until it's as if he never existed. Apparently, Lydia Martin (Holland Roden) will be the last to forget about Stiles and could be the key to save him from the Ghost Riders, her being a banshee. The insertion of the Ghost Riders in the storyline is convenient, as it allowed O'Brien to recuperate.
In an interview with EW, showrunner Jeff Davis revealed that Stiles' three best friends, Scott, Lydia, and Malia Tate (Shelley Hennig) will go about their lives as if no one's missing. However, the one most affected by the loss will be Sheriff Stilinski (Linden Ashby).
In related news, Posey will be making his helming the final episode of "Teen Wolf" season 6. Apparently, he will make a "dark" ending for the show but will make sure he gives the series the swan song it deserves.
"Teen Wolf" season 6 is set to air on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 9 p.m. ET on MTV.
