Fans of AMC's "The Walking Dead" and, in particular, Daryl Dixon, have said multiple times over the years that they will riot if and when the producers kill off their beloved Daryl.

Now, "The Walking Dead" star Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl, has announced that he himself will start the riot if and when Daryl gets the axe.

In an interview with Variety, Reedus said, "I will be passing out matches if that happens — I will be starting the riot."

"I put a lot of work into this character for a long time, and I really like my job, and I like all the people I work with an awful lot, and I like all those fans that have my back, and I have their back, and I'm trying to do a good job for them as well," he said. "So it's one big family that I'm proud to be part of."

Judging from the actor's comments, it may be fair to assume that it won't be Daryl who gets Lucille'd in "The Walking Dead" season 7 premiere, which will reportedly pick up right where the season 6 finale left off — just as Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is beating one of the Alexandrians to death with his barbed wire-covered baseball bat.

Meanwhile, a character from season 6 has been confirmed to make an appearance in season 7.

On Monday, June 13, "TWD" actor Xander Berkeley, who played Gregory in the previous season, tweeted that he has arrived in Georgia for the filming of the next season of the AMC zombie apocalypse series.

"Landed in Atlanta!" Berkeley wrote. "Hilltop here I come! Psyched for #Season7 of #TWD !!"

In season 6, Berkeley made his first appearance as Gregory, the leader of the Hilltop community. While his group became an ally to Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his band of survivors, the character was also quite sneaky. It is unclear whether or not he will be friend or foe to the Alexandrians in the upcoming season.

"The Walking Dead" returns for its seventh season in October.
