GoPro Hero 5 release date, specs news: Action camera to come out with betters specs than Hero 4?

The GoPro Hero 5's development and release have been hot topics all over the internet ever since the current iteration came out in July 2015. According to the latest reports, the new action camera will be release in October 2016.

Although the company has continued to stay mum about the said device, fans have reasons to believe that the much-anticipated Hero 5 will come out this year. GoPro stocks have already been reported to have gone since 2015. The delayed release of the GoPro Karma Drone also contributed to the company's trouble.

Many fans were left in dismay when the company failed to roll out the highly anticipated drone this year. Nonetheless, reports about the new GoPro Hero 5 with its upgraded specs and features give them some sort of hope that the company will release the action camera this year.

According to the report, the Hero 5 will carry two processors – the Snapdragon 800 chip from Qualcomm and the A10 chipset. Rumor has it that the new iteration will have the ability to shoot 8K resolution videos. Apparently, GoPro is raising up the bar in the competition as other makers are beginning to make their presence felt in the market.

There are also speculations suggesting that the new Hero 5 will get a much powerful battery technology at 2,800mAh. This would allow users to explore more on the device. There are rumors saying that it will come with underwater focus and a dual lens setup. If these rumors prove to be true, fans will surely be treated with a new and improved GoPro device.

Meanwhile, Game N Guide reported that the upcoming GoPro Hero 5 will have a price tag of $450–$550 once it hits the shelves. Fans are certainly excited for the device to finally come out. However, as of the moment, the company has yet to provide significant information with regard to its release.
