iPhone 6 and 6 Plus Cases: What Is the Best iPhone 6 Case; Variety of New Cases Now Available

To most fans, the iPhone 6 craze doesn't end with the purchase of the relatively expensive handset. To complete the fun and provide safety assurance to users, new useful and enhancing iPhone 6 cases and accessories have hit the market.

Competition has driven manufacturers of these gadgets to improve on their products, both in terms of durability and functionality. For instance, Vysk Communications' QS1 is a security-minded iPhone case that encrypts phone calls and any other activity on the iPhone.

There is also the FLIR One thermal imaging case that uses the iPhone's camera and an inbuilt thermal imaging camera to see behind walls.

Although many reviewers have commended Apple for the durability of its newly released iPhones, many users will not be satisfied until they buy a case to protect their phone.

Apple is most certainly aware of this and has released cases for its new iPhones. The company offers leather and silicone cases. The leather case is available in five colors and the silicone version comes in six colors.

Apple's leather casing costs $45 for the iPhone 6 and $49 for the iPhone 6 Plus, according to sources. The silicone case has a $35 to $39 price tag. These cases may be purchased at the Apple website.

Several other top-of-the line manufacturers have come out with their own iPhone 6 cases.

OtterBox

One of them is OtterBox which promises to make any smartphone virtually indestructible once enclosed in its case. OtterBox has a variety of models that fit the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Their price ranges from $20 to $70 depending on their protection level.

OtterBox's AlphaGlass screen protector is still not available for the iPhone 6 Plus. But the company's Defender, Symmetry and Commuter models are there for the taking while Commuter Wallet, Alpha Glass and Clearly protected are due for release soon.

Incipio

Another top case maker is Incipio. The company has already released its cases for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

For iPhone 6, Incipio offers the DualPro, Feather, Highland, NGP Edge, Octane, Phenom, Rival, Stowaway and Watson cases. For the iPhone 6 Plus, Incipio has larger versions of the DualPro, Feather, Highland, NGP Edge, Rival and Stowaway models.

The cases come in a variety of colors. Their prices range from $20 for the NGP to $45 for the Watson. These cases are available on preorder from Amazon and the Incipio website.

BuQu

BUQU has come out with its PowerArmor case for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. The BUQU claims that its case doubles the iPhone 6's battery life with its own built-in 2500Ah battery, which also displays the phone's battery status in a flashy LED "fuel gauge."

It also serves as a rugged phone case with its unibody shell.

Olloclip

Olloclip is a slide-on 4-in-1 camera lens for iPhone photographers who want to utilize the iPhone's camera abilities and take more detailed photos. One of the main drawbacks of a smartphone camera is that it produces grainy pictures once put on digital zoom. The Olloclip solves this with a 10x and 15x macro zoom, as well as fisheye and wide-angle lenses. The new iPhone 6 Olloclip lenses will be launched in late November.
