iPhone 6 vs BlackBerry Classic Comparison: Specs, Features Review - Apple and Blackberry Go Head-to-Head

Mashup of the BlackBerry Classic and the iPhone 6 | YouTube

BlackBerry is back with its classic look and features in its Classic smartphone model.

When pitted against the iPhone 6, the BlackBerry Classic comes up short in some areas but is ahead in others, making the competition between them more or less a draw, although for most it could be a weigh up over which operating system and App environment they want to be part of.

For instance, many business-minded folk prefer the BlackBerry Classic over the iPhone 6 as they value the former's QWERTY keypad and trackpad.

The BlackBerry Classic has a larger screen than the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and is strikingly different from the iPhone 6 due to its QWERTY keyboard. However, the iPhone has premium design elements and a full metal chassis which is curved around the edges. The iPhone 6 is also slightly bigger measuring 5.44 inches compared to the 5.16 inches of the BlackBerry Classic.

On their display size, the iPhone 6 has a 4.7-inch display compared to the 3.5-inch display on the BlackBerry Classic. As for resolution the BlackBerry Classic has 720 x 720 pixels and a pixel density of 294 pixels per inch. The iPhone 6 has 750 x 1334 pixels and a density of 326 pixels per inch. This higher density and screen size mean that the iPhone 6 is a much better device to view videos on.

As for specs, the iPhone 6 comes with the Apple A8 chipset along with a Dual-core Cyclone CPU clocked at 1.4 GHz and a PowerVR GX6450 GPU. The BlackBerry Classic has a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon chipset coupled with a Dual-core Krait CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz and an Adreno 225 GPU. The iPhone 6, as with all smartphones from Apple, still has a fixed 1GB RAM. In contrast, the BlackBerry Classic has 2 GB worth of RAM.

The two phones have little similarity on their internal memory. The iPhone 6 is sold with 16 GB, 64 GB or 128 GB and does not have any microSD slot thus ruling out external memory. On the other hand, the BlackBerry Classic only has 16 GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 128 GB using its microSD slot.
