'The Flash' season 3 spoilers news: Barry to lose his powers? Will face off with dark speedster?

While the waiting game for "The Flash" season 3 is on, talks about it tackling the "Flashpoint" storyline are getting louder and louder. In fact, what Barry did in the season 2 finale could have an adverse effect on other superhero shows under the DC umbrella – "Arrow," "Legends of Tomorrow," and "Supergirl" – that are showing on The CW.

When season 3 returns, fans will see Nora Allen alive as a result of Barry's (Grant Gustin) actions in season 2's ender. Nevertheless, it could also knock his speed down from 700 mph to measly single digits.

What's more, it looks like there will be two new speedsters coming to tear Central City up this fall. Keiynan Lonsdale will give life to Wally West/Kid Flash, but there will be a dark new meta whose identity remains unknown, and apparently, Barry would be powerless able to stop him.

Various set photos were leaked online, and one photo shows Barry, dressed in casual clothes, trying to take stock of what happened between Kid Flash and the dark new speedster. The fact that Kid Flash is rendered unconscious in a dumpster, it's obvious that this unknown foe can pack a strong wallop.

Incidentally, Canadagraphs shared a photo of this new speedster on its Twitter page, and it was quick to allay speculations that the masked foe could be anyone among John Wesley Ship, Tom Felton, or Tom Cavanagh. Check out the photo below:

While this speedster foe is still unnamed, Screen Crush has revealed who the person behind the costume is. According to the publication, playing Barry's new foe is Todd Lasance, who previously starred in "The Vampire Diaries" and "Spartacus." Still, The CW has yet to confirm or give details about this new character.

"The Flash" season 3 premieres on Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW. Meanwhile, check out the latest photo teasers for Kid Flash here.
