'24: Legacy' premiere date, spoilers, news: New hero coming; Chloe is returning

TV series "24: Legacy" is still far away from its premiere date, but updates and spoilers regarding it have surfaced ahead of time. For starters, the show is said to be a spin-off of "24" and not a reboot.
This means that the protagonist is no longer going to be counterterrorism agent Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland). As detailed in a report, "24: Legacy" will still carry on to be a political action drama with a pinch of spying, but Bauer isn't the frontliner anymore. Instead, a new hero named Eric Carter will take over the spotlight.
He is said to be a rough ex-army guy with an interesting past, one that is haunting enough to dig up. Most likely, the new character's past will be explored in the show, and it will become the foundation of the storylines and twists of the series. It's also noted in the synopsis found in Screen Crush that the series will follow the military hero's return to the U.S.
And since he is still stuck with his past, he is compelled to ask the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) to help him and save his life. Moreover, with the help of the CTU, they will be able to stop what could potentially turn out to be one of the largest terrorist attacks on American soil. The synopsis also reads: "Told in real time with split screens, each episode will represent one hour of an eventful day."
Fans are already excited to catch a whole new adventure, but several are asking if there will be anyone from the main series who will be joining in the spin-off.
According to reports, fan favorite Chloe O'Brien (Mary Lynn Rajskub) could appear in the new series.
Chloe first appeared in the third season of "24." Even as a new character then, many learned to love her as she was involved in several storylines. Executive producer Evan Katz spoke to TVLine and said that with regards to Chloe, they have plans for the character. The producer revealed hat "Right now, our clear priority is [establishing] these new characters, and have the audience build a relationship with them. But we have some surprises planned," he added.
"24: Legacy" is scheduled to premiere on Feb. 5, 2017 on FOX.
