'Agent Carter' season 3 renewal news update: Hayley Atwell pitches 'Agent Carter' film, family twist planned for Season 3
"Agent Carter" season 3 has already been mapped out before it was cancelled. During MegaCon in Orlando, Florida, lead star Hayley Atwell revealed the plans for her character Peggy in the show's continuation.
"There was talk of season 3 of going further back into her past," the actress said via Entertainment Weekly. She added that the showrunners planned a twist that involves Peggy's family.

"They suggested there would be more to do with my brother. So that's all I can say," Atwell continued. The star was referring to Michael Carter (Max Brown).
Spoiler Alert! This article contains plot details from "Agent Carter" season 2. Those who do not want to know should turn away now.
Michael was introduced in the second season of "Agent Carter." Unfortunately, he was killed in the Second World War, which pushed Peggy to involve herself in the Special Operations Executive.
Peggy's brother's reappearance will make sense since "Agent Carter 3" will delve into her past. This storytelling course should also chart Peggy's journey into becoming the respected woman she is now known as.
But unless "Agent Carter" is resurrected by another network, all of this will only be regarded as something that might have been.
Fans have done their bid to bring "Agent Carter" back to life by starting an online petition to move the series to streaming company Netflix, which is also home to other Marvel adaptations.
For Atwell's part, she vowed to do "whatever it takes" to revive "Agent Carter" season 3. The actress has already signed up for a new ABC series titled "Conviction," but she is prepared to shoot on weekends and put in more work to make that happen.
"It would be an absolute privilege and honor to bring her back for the fans," Atwell said. The star also teased that if the series won't be renewed, she can just star in her "own movie", a remark that extremely excited the MegaCon audience.
