The Spirit of Vengeance is coming to wreak havoc with Agent Coulson and the team as Marvel has confirmed that Ghost Rider will be part of the upcoming fourth season.

Gizmodo reports that Marvel officially revealed Ghost Rider in a teaser that was screened at the "Agents of SHIELD" panel at the San Diego Comic-Con. What's more is that there was a live display of Ghost Rider's car on the show floor.

Some people will be confused as the Ghost Rider that was more popularly played by Nicholas Cage in the past "Ghost Rider" movies, Johnny Blaze, drove a motorcycle, not a car. This version of Ghost Rider will be the new one from the comics who Marvel introduced back in 2014.

The new Spirit of Vengeance is a Latino teen by the name of Robbie Reyes. His backstory is that he joined an illegal street race to win money for his disabled brother Gabe. After the race, he was gunned down by a couple of mysterious men, but instead of dying Robbie was possessed by the Spirit of Vengeance, and hence became the new Ghost Rider.

During the SDCC panel, Marvel confirmed that Reyes will be played by Gabriel Luna (from "True Detective"). Ghost Rider will supposedly "roar into the lives of Agent Coulson and the team."

Fans had been speculating Ghost Rider's appearance in the show ever since some Comic-Con trams were brandishing "Agents of SHIELD" ads designed with flaming chains. It's nice to see some of that speculation pay off.

Cage's "Ghost Rider" movies were never really known for being any good, so fans can consider this as a type of reboot for the character. It would also be nice to see Ghost Rider making an appearance in the Netflix Marvel Universe, as he is one of the Marvel Knights (including Daredevil, Luke Cage, Doctor strange, and the Punisher, all of whom are already cast in the MCU).

The fourth season of "Agents of SHIELD" premieres later this year.
