Starz's adaptation of Neil Gaiman's best-selling novel, "American Gods," finally got a trailer released at this year's San Diego Comic-Con.

The trailer gives viewers a closer look at all the characters that have been teased so far. Other than Ricky Whittle as Shadow Moon, fans also got to see Ian McShane in character as Mr. Wednesday. The trailer also shows Mad Sweeney (Pablo Schreiber), Laura Moon (Emily Browning), and Technical Boy (Bruce Langley).

Viewers also got a first glimpse of the other characters appearing on the show. These include Peter Stormare as Czernobog — complete with his bloody sledgehammer. Czernobog is an old Slavic deity who is referred to as the "Black God." In the novel, Shadow makes a bet with Czernobog, and if Shadow loses, Czernobog gets to slug his sledgehammer as hard as he could against Shadow's head.

The trailer also offers a first look at Crispin Glover as Mr. World, one of the new gods that Mr. Wednesday is going up against.

Entertainment Weekly has also reported that Gillian Anderson will play the role of Media. In the books, Media tries to seduce Shadow by taking the form of "I Love Lucy's" Lucille Ball and bribing him to join the side of the new gods. In a recent tweet from Anderson, she shared a picture of herself in full Marilyn Monroe garb; perhaps she's going to seduce Shadow with more celebrities than in the books.

Showrunner Bryan Fuller has a lot on his plate this year. Aside from "American Gods," the former "Hannibal" producer has also released a trailer for his new "Star Trek" series, "Star Trek: Discovery" at the SDCC.

The first season of "American Gods" is set to have 10 episodes, and it will premiere sometime in 2017.
