Good news for all the fans of the anthology horror series "American Horror Story." They can finally mark their calendars as network FX already announced the premiere date of "AHS" season 6.

"American Horror Story" season 6 will air its first episode on Sept. 14 at 10 p.m. ET. The overall theme and story plot are still kept under wraps but reports reveal that major changes are going to happen for the show. For starters, reports say that the series is going to be shorter in the upcoming season.

Season 6 is said to only contain a total of 10 episodes. If it turns out to be true, it will be the shortest title run in the anthology to date. "Murder House" and "Hotel" were previously the shortest with only 12 episodes while the rest had 13 episodes.

The reason for the cutting down of episodes is still to be known. It seems like the showrunners have something else in mind given that they even scheduled the new season premiere earlier than the usual, which is in October. But since nothing has been confirmed about the number of episodes yet, fans will have to wait and see if they will be indeed getting less "American Horror Story" than they'd like.

The horror series is slowly coming together now and fans are delighted to at least get some tidbits of information on what will take place in season 6. Aside from the confirmed premiere date, it's also confirmed already that Lady Gaga, Evan Peters, Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, Angela Bassett and Denis O'Hare are returning to take on new roles.

A teaser logo has been released as well, giving fans some hazy hints on the new theme of the show. Some say that the logo, which is a merging of a red blood number six and a question mark, suggests a devil-themed show. This means the upcoming run could be the scariest to date.

More details about "American Horror Story" season 6 are expected to be released soon so fans should stay tuned.
