The premiere date of "American Horror Story" season 6 is fast approaching, but until now, fans are still kept away from the details of what the brand new season will be all about. However, there are a couple of hints including the latest trailer released.

As posted in the official Twitter account of the series, the short teaser showed a group of poker-faced children sitting down in the middle of a corn field while pounding their fists on a desk in unison. With its eerie and mysterious vibe, fans are still confused about what the new season's plot will be since this is only one trailer among many that were released.

It should be noted, however, that all of the teasers released have all one thing in common — the location is set on, or around, a farm and a farmhouse. It has also been repeatedly rumored that the new season will involve children. The latest trailer just confirmed that, and looking at their eyes turning black, it's apparent that there may be a strong demonic presence that's going to take place.

The teaser is also linked to the long-running "Children of the Corn" film series. Could "American Horror Story" season 6 be inspired by the 1984 supernatural horror film based on Stephen King's short story? Fans should not be too hopeful because it is reported that all but one of the promos are red herrings

FX chief John Landgraf said at the Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour earlier this month that the show made lots of trailers for hypothetical seasons. "Different genres, different places. I think they're really fun and funny and beautifully, artfully made ... and a lot of them are accurate. The others are all misdirects," he said.

With that being said, the show opened a contest for all of its fans. They made a total of six trailers and let fans guess which among the titles "Post Op," "Lullaby," "Wind Chimes," "The Shadow," "Blind Date," and "Camp Site" is the correct one. The prizes include an all-new 2017 Mercedez-Benz C300 Coupe and a trip for two to the set of the show in Los Angeles.

"American Horror Story" season 6 premieres on Sept. 14 on FX.
