Android 7.0 Nougat release date, features: New emoji, split-screen mode, quick switch

Google's latest operating system, the Android 7.0, has already been rolled out for quite some time now. However, it is only available for the latest Nexus, Android One and Pixel devices.
According to reports, only the supported Nexus devices have the privilege to download and run the Android 7.0 Nougat for now. This means that non-Nexus owners will have to wait for the general release before installing it on their device. Everyone must take note that not all devices will be able to get the new operating system, especially the older models.
As of now, there is no specific schedule yet on when the update will launch for other devices but it is speculated to come out for Samsung smartphones sometime in late February or early March 2017. The first model expected to get it is the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
T-Mobile has also already listed the devices that will be getting the update soon. Included in the roster are the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, Galaxy Note 7, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.
As for the features, the official website of Android detailed that the Nougat 7.0 will be coming with over 1,500 emojis, including 72 new ones.
It will also be featuring a new split-screen mode and quick switching mode that will let users multi-task easily and open apps simultaneously on their phones. Switching from one app to another is now faster and better. All users have to do is double tap the Multitasking button to go back and forth between the two most recent apps.
The notification system has also been enhanced. Users can now more efficiently manage settings for notifications from the swipe down menu. Aside from that, they can reply to all notifications without having the need to launch the app. They can now simply just swipe down and choose whether to reply or ignore.
Apparently, Android 7.0 Nougat has a lot in store for its users so the market will have to stay tuned for updates about it.
