Many fans expect the upcoming Android N operating system from Google to be released anytime soon. There are speculations suggesting that the OS may get rolled out way before the year ends; however, Samsung Galaxy owners may have to wait a little longer before they can start downloading the update.

Nonetheless, previous reports coming from tech observers suggest that Samsung Galaxy devices are expected to receive the Android N update in the last quarter of 2016 and not next year.

Google recently announced during the I/O developers' conference that they plan to roll out the Android N OS during the summer and not in fall. This could be the reason why Samsung is more excited about the Android N software than the Marshmallow update.

Although most Samsung Galaxy devices will get the update during the fourth quarter of this year, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is not going to be released until 2017. Some fans may find this quite odd; however, the company has yet to make the release official.

Despite the noise about Samsung Galaxy devices getting the Android N update sometime this year, it is quite certain that the Nexus smartphones and tablets from Google will get the software first before the others. However, history suggests that Samsung normally gets the first Android updates. Just this year, the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 were among the first devices to get the Android Marshmallow updates.

According to SamMobile, several popular products from Samsung will get the Android N update including the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy Note 5, and the S6 Edge Plus.

Other rumored Samsung devices such as the Galaxy Note 6, Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge will be getting the Android N OS once they hit the market.

As of the now, fans are still waiting for the first Android N update to come out.
