Apple iOS 10 problems, iOS 10.0.1 fix update news: Minor update released to fix bugs

Apple users have long been waiting for the iOS 10 update. But now that it has landed, several wished they did not rush into upgrading as it only brought problems, disabling many from using their devices.

According to The Verge, the Cupertino-based tech giant launched the iOS 10 on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 13. Things went downhill from there when complaints across social media surfaced. Many experienced installation problems with their iPhone and iPad devices while some encountered update process failures.

After installing the software, the screen displayed an error prompting users to plug their devices into a computer to do a complete restoration of the operating system. This unfortunately led to the smartphone being unusable.

Apple Support had initially reminded users to back up their phones before proceeding with the update. They also recommended that they download the software on iTunes. But if the user has not done any of the necessary precautions, Apple has fortunately already rolled out a solution to the problem.

"We experienced a brief issue with the software update process, affecting a small number of users during the first hour of availability," an Apple spokesperson told the publication. "The problem was quickly resolved and we apologize to those customers," he added.

Reports stated that Apple released iOS 10.0.1, which is a minor update designed to resolve the aforementioned issue. Users who experienced a "bricked" phone must connect it to the computer. After which, they should open iTunes and put their device in recovery mode by holding down the home and power buttons.

A message would then pop out on iTunes and instruct the user to update or restore. By selecting the "update" option, the device will do a new install of iOS 10.

The new iOS 10 software is now available on iTunes or over the air. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will be come with the updated operating system.
