Apple's upcoming smartwatch, Apple Watch 2, is a wearable device that many have been waiting for. However, until now, the release date is still a secret kept by the Cupertino-based company. There are rumors, though, saying that it will be making its debut next month already.

According to a report by Phone Arena, the original model of the Apple smartwatch is getting a price cut for the Memorial Day Sale weekend. Electronic retailers like Best Buy is giving at least $200 discount for the Apple Watch, which means customers can get it at a price range of $349 to $399 depending on the variants available.

As many may have observed, offering price discounts on current models usually means that the company is trying to empty their stocks to make way for new models. According to Yibada, the release of the updated smartwatch is predicted to take place during the Worldwide Developers' Conference which will happen on June 13 to June 17. Other reports claim, though, that it will be launched late this year together with iPhone 7 and iPhone Plus in September. None has been confirmed, so it's best to take these speculations with a pinch of salt.

There are reports that claim that the wearable device will be coming with design changes. Nothing drastic, though, as noted in Value Walk. The next model may only be getting a slight makeover on the appearance like getting a more curved screen shape or a thicker size.

Moreover, the device is also anticipated to carry new features. Mac Rumors reported that it may be getting a FaceTime video camera, an expansion of its Wi-Fi capabilities and new model tiers.  It is also expected to have an improved battery life, faster processor and an IP67 rating for its water and dust resistance features.
