"Jessica Jones" actor Will Traval has been cast in the fifth season of The CW's "Arrow," and he will be playing Christopher Chance, who is also known as The Human Target.

According to TV Line, the Human Target is a bodyguard that protects his clients by assuming their identity. The character is said to make his debut on the fifth episode of the season, and he will be hired to protect a high-profile client, Mayor Oliver Queen.

ComicBookMovie.com reports that this isn't the first onscreen appearance of The Human Target. Back in 2010, Mark Valley played Christopher Chance in Fox's short-lived "Human Target" series — a series that only lasted 2 seasons, running from 2010-2011. What's more is that ABC had attempted to make its own "Human Target" series back in the early 90s with Rick Springfield as the star. That series didn't even finish its first season, with the show being canceled after 7 episodes. Here's to hoping that Christopher Chance won't cause the cancellation of "Arrow" when he shows up.

"Jessica Jones" fans will remember that Will Traval played Nuke (a.k.a. Will Simpson) in the first season of the show. Nuke was a candidate in a super-soldier program that gave him adrenaline pills which enhanced his abilities, yet they also made him mentally unstable.

In the Marvel Universe, Traval's character was known as a hero-turned-villain, but this turnover to the DC Universe may see him play as a hero (who stays that way) — but then again, The Human Target could have his own hidden agenda, depending on what the writers want to do for the fifth season.

The Human Target was a comic character created back in the 1950s with the alias of Fred Venable, and the Christopher Chance version debuted in 1972. He has since been having steady appearances all over the comics, and based on his adapted TV shows, he has earned a bit of popularity over the years.

"Arrow" returns for its fifth season on Oct 5, 2016.
