Fans have not seen the last of Black Canary as actress Katie Cassidy is set to appear in the premiere of "Arrow" season 5. In fact, the character will be popping up across the shows in the Arrowverse.

Fans were extremely heartbroken (some were angry) when Laurel Lance was killed by Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) in the previous season of "Arrow."

It was said that this won't be undone and many fans were not happy to see an iconic character in the comics bite the dust, but it turns out the death is not so permanent after all.

During the show's panel at the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), executive producer Wendy Mericle revealed that Katie Cassidy will be back for more action.

"We will definitely see her in 501, and we have made a deal with her across Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow, so Katie Cassidy is definitely not gone from this universe," she said to the audience, who roared in excitement about the news.

After Black Canary's death, Cassidy actually popped up in "The Flash" as the Earth-2 version of Laurel and an evil one at that. She goes by the name Black Siren in that world.

Mericle did not detail in what form or fashion Cassidy will be back in "Arrow" season 5. With a show deeply affected by multiverses, temporary death and time travel, there are a lot of ways she could return.

It is a mystery if Laurel will be actually resurrected or a doppelganger of hers or a metahuman that can shape-shift into anything will make Cassidy's return.

However, fans speculate that her comeback in "Arrow" season 5 will have something to do with Barry's (Grant Gustin) actions in "The Flash," where he went back in time and basically changed the present.

With regards to the mystery of the promise Oliver (Stephen Amell) before Laurel died, it is expected to e revealed in "Arrow" season 5.

Amell also teased to TVLine that "it's something that's going to have a lasting impact not just in our season premiere, but over the next couple seasons of the show."

"Arrow" season 5 premieres Wednesday, Oct. 5 on The CW.
