Action television series "Arrow" will return to the small screen soon for season 5. It's still a few months away, but spoilers have already made its way to the web.

The latest one to hit headlines is about the new big bad. As revealed by showrunner Wendy Mericle to the printed edition of TV Guide, the upcoming season 5 villain is going to be someone that Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) actually created.

"[The villain] is somebody Oliver unwittingly created in Season 1 when he was a killer in a hood," Mericle said. "This guy is going to be collateral damage who lost someone to the Hood and [has] spent the last several years training and plotting for revenge. He will be a true dark mirror to Oliver Queen."

Mericle did not give away a lot of details, especially the identity of the character, so fans will have to wait and stay tuned to find out who is going to cause some havoc in Star City. However, previous reports claim that Tobias Church will be the next anti-hero of the series. The character is said to be played by Chad L. Coleman.

As detailed in a report, Church is a gangster who plotted out a plan to unite all the villains in Star City. He considers Queen as a major threat to his rebellious plans, so he will be going after him and try to kill him. And even though Church has no powers, Queen or Green Arrow will still need some help in taking him down.

Aside from the new villain, Team Arrow is also expected to face several other problems in the fifth installment. Spoilers reveal that Star City will be flooded with crimes as the city is an easy mark for corruption and gang activity.

Fortunately, new vigilantes are coming, and Queen is on the verge of rebuilding Team Arrow with new members including Mr. Terrific (Echo Kellum).

"Arrow" season 5 will premiere on Oct. 5 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
