Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe release date arrives: Specs & features include Snapdragon 821

Asus' newest flagship smartphone ZenFone 3 Deluxe is now available with a Snapdragon 821 variant.

According to reports, the ZenFone 3 Deluxe is the first ever smartphone to carry the Snapdragon 821 chipset, which is claimed to be Qualcomm's most powerful processor yet. Clocked at a speed of 2.4GHz, the device is 10 percent more efficient compared to the original model which carries the Snapdragon 820.

Asus did not initially bring the variant to India though. Instead, it was released first in the company's country of origin, Taiwan, with a price tag of TWD 24,990 or roughly $776. It is available for order in the country and will start shipping by the end of this month. As of the moment, there is no announcement yet on when the device will be available in other countries.

In terms of the specs and features, reports said that the original version and the new variant are just the same. The ZenFone 3 Deluxe with Snapdragon 821 still comes with a full-metal body with fingerprint sensor at the back. It is equipped with 6 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 256 GB of internal storage.

It sports a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a pixel resolution of 1080 x 1920 and is pre-installed with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow topped with Asus' Zen UI 3.0. Moreover, the device features impressive camera specs beginning with the primary camera, which is 23 megapixels with a Sony IMX318 sensor and dual-LED flash.

It also has a laser autofocus with proprietary TriTech system as well as 4-axis optical image stabilization and 3-axis electronic image stabilization for a steady 4K UHD video recording.

In front is an 8-megapixel selfie snapper. Connectivity options include Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, Typce-C USB and Wi-Fi 802.11. Powering up the handset is a 3,000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support, allowing it to charge at 60 percent in just 39 minutes.

The Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe is available in Glacier Silver and Shimmer Gold but the latter will be out by Friday, Sept. 23.
