Asus Zenfone 3 release date news: Device coming soon with Snapdragon 821-powered Deluxe version?

Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe, one of the three editions of the highly-anticipated flagship, is reportedly coming with a top-tier version with higher specs and extra features.

The other two Asus Zenfone 3 smartphones namely Zenfone 3 Ultra and simply Zenfone 3 are coming with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor.

However, new reports suggest that a more powerful version of the Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe will be powered by the still unannounced Snapdragon 821 chipset.

This Qualcomm processor is still unofficial, but Phone Arena expects it to be a minor upgrade from the 820 processor since the rumored Snapdragon 823chipset is the one believed to be the full-in sequel.

For that reason, the Snapdragon 821 processor on the Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe will likely boast a higher clock speed than the 820 processor.

Despite what appears to be only a small tweak, this will still give the said Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe version an improved performance than those that belong in the same lineup as it is.

Sans the chipset upgrade, the Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe already sports an insane set of specs. It comes with a rich 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display and a metal unibody designed to conceal the antenna lines.

It packs a massive 6 GB of RAM, which is slowly becoming the standard today in the premium category on smartphones. This amount of memory should also work best with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor on board.

The Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe is making history by offering 256 GB worth of storage, which is double that of the most popular competition such as the iPhone 6S and Samsung Galaxy S7.

This large amount of storage is even expandable with a microSD card, which means that users will be able to save tons of apps, photos and other files in the Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe. Users are getting a 23-megapixel rear-facing camera as well.

Going back to the discussion about the processing power, it is rumored that apart from the Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe, the next-generation Google Nexus device being made by HTC is also getting the Snapdragon 821 chipset.

Asus Zenfone 3 has no release date yet, but it should be out soon.
