'Attack on Titan' season 2 rumors, plot news: To feature scarier Titans and new problems
There is still a long way to go before the anime adaptation of the hit Japanese manga series "Attack on Titan" returns to the small screen for its second season. A release date is yet to be announced, but speculations suggest that it will premiere sometime next year. It could even debut as early as February.
Reports also suggest that the second season of "Attack on Titan" will feature more frightening Titans. Apart from this, there is also a possibility that the Titans exist and hide within the walls that humans built to protect them from the monsters. It's also said that the heroes will face new problems as a new big bad comes into the picture.
The new villainous Titan is described by game company Koei Tecmo America as a creature that is giant and ape-like. The ape-like Titan also has the capability of killing off someone by using sheer force. If this is the case, the heroes will be in big trouble, and this conflict is something that fans will surely enjoy.
More Titans will also be reportedly introduced. One of them is called Zeke, a Titan that is said to be intelligent, and one that can transform like the main character, Eren. There's also the Beast Titan and the Armored Titan, which are supposedly larger and more powerful compared to the Titans that were introduced in the first season.
Regarding the plot, it is reported that the second season will explore the history behind the apocalyptic setting where the first season was set. It will delve more into that back story since the first season did not have enough time to explore and explain how the Titans arrived and how the survivors found themselves living within the walls in order to protect themselves from the Titans.
Moreover, the Reiss family's story will also be covered by the upcoming season. An explanation as to how they were able to achieve power may be discussed, along with the Historia Reiss' backstory and how she got involved in the Survey Corps. And since she is the illegitimate daughter of King Rod Reiss, she is deemed to be the heiress of the throne. It's still to be known if Historia will take over the and reign or if she will continue to be with the Survey Corps.
