'Avengers: Infinity War' spoilers news: How 'Guardians of the Galaxy' will enter the picture

"Avengers: Infinity War" will bring together majority of the characters who appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This includes the Guardians of the Galaxy, whose appearance was teased by writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.
"Let's put it this way: you know who owns that Gauntlet, right? And you know who's in another movie, and his kids are in that movie... you do the math!" Markus told Nerdist.
The owner of the Gauntlet the "Avengers: Infinity War" screenwriter was talking about is Thanos (Josh Brolin). The kids he was referring to are Nebula (Karen Gillan) and Gamora (Zoe Saldana).
The latter, of course, is one of the guardians along with Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), Groot (Vin Diesel) and Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper).
From there, it's easy to imagine how the Guardians will be roped into the fray in "Avengers: Infinity War." Thanos will threaten the safety of the Earth, making an enemy out of Star-Lord.
Rocket Raccoon will join the fight for the same reason, assuming he is from the planet. His comic book history is very different but Nerdist believes that he will be portrayed as a creature from the world.
With Rocket on board, Groot will likely come with. Lastly, Drax will get himself involved in "Avengers: Infinity War" simply because he wants in on taking down the same man who killed his family.
It is highly likely that in "Avengers: Infinity War," the motley crew will be going after Thanos after he retrieves the Orb from the Nova Corps, the same one that they fought so hard to acquire in the first film.
Fansided also points out that with Pratt in "Avengers: Infinity War," he becomes the third actor named Chris in the movie. The first two ones are Chris Evans as Captain America and Chris Hemsworth as Thor.
"Avengers: Infinity War" Part 1 hits the big screen on May 21, 2018. Catch Star-Lord and the crew first on "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" on May 5, 2017.
