'Avengers: Infinity War' updates: Russo Brothers talk about having Captain Marvel and Squirrel Girl

Directors of the next Avengers film, "The Avengers: Infinity War," Anthony and Joe Russo are currently working on promoting the DVD and Blu-Ray release of "Captain America: Civil War," and they have taken some time to share their thoughts about including Captain Marvel and Squirrel Girl into the movie.

According to ComicBookMovie.com, the director brothers are big fans of Anna Kendrick and are also on board with having her play Squirrel Girl for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, with the amount of characters already in the film, Joe Russo said, "[We have our] hands full trying to tell the story we have with our preexisting characters. Anthony would probably die from exhaustion if we introduced another character." Anthony Russo, however, says that that doesn't mean that they won't be introducing anyone new in the film.

Earlier this year, the Russo brothers suggested that "Infinity War" will have as much as 67 characters appearing in the film, and they say that the list has narrowed down to 66 characters. The pair laughed and said that Dr. Fine, one of the surgeons that declared Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) dead in "Winter Soldier," will not be making an appearance. He "wanted too much money," the pair joked.

Brie Larson had officially been announced as the Carol Danvers, who is also known as Captain Marvel for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it looks like she'll be appearing in the Avengers film after "Infinity War." As of now, it seems the Russos have no plans in making Danvers appear in "Infinity War," saying, "That's one we're going to have to plead the fifth on."

Meanwhile, Vin Diesel has reportedly confirmed that the Guardians of the Galaxy will be part of the movie as well. That adds a big number to the already crowded Avengers Roster, so the Russo brothers will have a lot to deliver when the film comes out.

"The Avengers: Infinity War" is set to premiere on May 4, 2018.
