Starz's "Black Sails" has had quite a successful run ever since it premiered. With four seasons under its belt, it was the first series in the network to get past three seasons — a benchmark originally held by "Spartacus: Blood and Sand." The show's final season is still coming next year, and some fans have opted to revisit past seasons in order to quench their thirst for more "Black Sails."

In an article published on Inverse, hardcore "Black Sails" fan Lauren Sarner revisited the past events of the said show. She also brought in a newcomer to "Black Sails," and together, they commented on the show through the article. Aside from the praise given to the show's production design, Sanders also comments on the show's ability to address modern-day issues in a period setting.

The show, though a critical success, has been void of any official recognition when it comes to awards, and some fans have been outraged that Toby Stephens, who plays Captain Flint, has not received anything for his portrayal of the fictional Pirate Captain.

Fans are sad to see the show go, and the show's co-creator Jonathan Steinberg told Deadline that: "It's a rare privilege in television to be given the kind of creative freedom we've enjoyed on this show over the last four years... While it was a difficult decision for us to make this season our last, we simply couldn't imagine anything beyond it that would make for a better ending to the story nor a more natural handoff to 'Treasure Island.'"

"Black Sails," to those who are unfamiliar, serves as a prequel to the classic Robert Louis Stevenson book, "Treasure Island." Characters from the book, such as Long John Silver (Luke Arnold) and Billy Bones (Tom Hopper), and it also showcases real pirates in history like Edward Teach a.k.a. Blackbeard (Ray Stevenson), also appear on the show

The fourth season of "Black Sails" is set to premiere early in 2017.
