'Chicago Fire' season 5 spoilers, plot news: Will Casey and Dawson tie the knot?

Showrunner of the drama "Chicago Fire" Matt Olmstead has revealed that they are preparing something big for the show's 100th episode. His statement made people thinking that this could mean that Dawson (Monica Raymund) and Casey (Jesse Spencer) are going to get married.
In an interview with TV Line, Olmstead said that they were already thinking about a wedding for the couple, but it was only a matter of proper delivery in the show. Fans have been incredibly supportive of "Dawsey" and the showrunner agrees that if the two were to finally get together, they would do it the right way.
"It's not something that they would do 'shotgun-style' just to facilitate an adoption. They wouldn't do it just for appearances sake. If and when they do it, they'll do it because it's time," he said.
Olmstead also teased a treat for fans when the show reaches its next milestone.
"We want a big episode, for sure," he said of the awaited episode 100. "There may be something big with Casey and Dawson. We're not going to treat it like just any episode."
Getting married could be the next big step for the couple, but as other reports noted, Dawson is still having doubts about Casey's commitment. Casey has left before in order to pursue his own goals, so it may not be in Dawson's best interest to stay with him.
As per Ecumenical News, some fans also think that this marriage could be done entirely just to give Louie a proper father figure, but the showrunners also feel that the couple deserves more than that. After losing a child together, Louie could be the very person that cements things between Dawson and Casey. After being saved from a fire, little baby Louie has found himself a soft spot in Dawson's heart, and he's not so bad with Casey as well.
Will the couple finally get together on the show's 100th episode? Find out when "Chicago Fire" season 5 premieres this coming Oct. 11 at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
