'Dance Moms' season 6 spoilers: Maddie Ziegler criticized for 'returning' to ALDC
Maddie Ziegler, former member of Abby Lee Dance Company (ALDC), performed with ALDC dancers Elliana Walmsley and Areana Lopez at the "Dance to the Music" event earlier this month. While the trio's routine was considered successful, it became a source of outrage to people who follow the show.

It has been reported that Ziegler, who was pulled out of the show by her mother a few months ago, has faced a backlash on Instagram following her appearance at the event. In return, her former long-time coach, Abby Lee Miller, posted a picture of the trio with the caption: "They dream of following in her footsteps, but will they ever fill her shoes? This is a cute pic! So sweet, so don't look for drama! These two performed with @maddieziegler in the 2016 dance concert 'Dance to the Music...' This was an adorable picture - why so hateful? Everyone's a critic."
Ziegler's mother Melissa Gisoni, announced a few months ago that her daughters — Maddie and her younger sister, Mackenzie — will no longer be featured in "Dance Moms." Ziegler has since then moved on to star in "So You Think You Can Dance: Next Generation" on FOX. Design and Trend, however, said that she still trains under ALDC. Perhaps she was only pulled out of the "Dance Moms" show?
As of now, "Dance Moms" season 6 is on break, but reports say it is set to return with eight more episodes this coming fall.
Movie News Guide revealed that there are currently ongoing casting calls for aspiring young dancers on the show taking place in major U.S. cities. These auditions, however, are not free, and the filming of the next season is set to start mid-August.
Rumors of the cancellation of "Dance Moms" have been floating around the internet as well, but MNG noted a report stating "Dance Moms" will come back for a season 7, though it will only have 13 episodes.
"Dance Moms" season 6 comes back this fall on Lifetime.
