'Deadpool 2' spoilers, release date: Filming begins early 2017, X-Force crossover not expected yet

With the first movie such a massive success, "Deadpool 2" has many fans anticipating the return of the Merc with a Mouth to the big screen.

It did not take long for "Deadpool 2" to be made official following the blockbuster takeover of the original film. Production fort the sequel has already been scheduled to begin early next year.

However, those who have been hoping for a Deadpool and X-Men crossover to happen in the highly-anticipated may have to hold their horses first.

"X-Men" movies director Bryan Singer told Variety that it will be very challenging to find the middle ground in terms of the tons of the characters. However, it is not entirely undoable.

"If you take a character as irreverent and meta as Deadpool and connect him to something as grounded and serious as X-Men, you have to do it carefully and gently," the filmmaker said.

"When you drop them all in together, it can be a disaster. That has to be done delicately, but there's plenty of room to do it," he added.

With that said, "Deadpool 2" might not be the venue for this crossover yet, but fans can be comforted with the idea that it is possible to happen in the future.

One way for this to come to fruition is bringing the X-Force into the picture, the team of superheroes that Deadpool is heavily connected with in the comics.

With the success of the first "Deadpool" film, a movie centered on the X-Force is now in the offing with actor Ryan Reynolds going so far as saying that it is a priority.

"Deadpool 2" might not cater to that yet, but it is looking like a crossover will take place in the near future. For now, it appears that "Deadpool" icon Cable will be introduced next.

Reynolds has also been campaigning for Wolverine to meet Deadpool in the big screen, although Hugh Jackman retiring the character after "Wolverine 3" might make that a bit far-fetched unless a new one enters.

With regards to the release date of the "Deadpool 2," the film is expected to take the March 2, 2018 slot.
