"Destiny" is reportedly getting a lot of attention from fans even if the game was released back in 2014. A new downloadable content (DLC) is said to come this year titled "Rise of Iron," and rumors are saying that 2017 will see the release of a full-blown sequel, "Destiny 2."

According to PC Advisor, an investor note from Activision gives light to the incoming releases connected to "Destiny." The letter reads, "Activision Publishing, along with its partners at Bungie, expects to bring a large new expansion to Destiny in 2016 and to release a full game sequel in 2017." Activision also showed up some statistics of the game which say that since its release, "Destiny" has been played by over 25 million people who have logged in a combined 3 billion hours of game time.

With "Rise of Iron," Activision plans to release a DLC bigger than "The Taken King" which came out back in September 2015. "Rise of Iron" is said to feature a new type of raid (most likely Fallen-themed) that is loosely based on a raid that was removed from the "House of Wolves" DLC last year.

As for "Destiny 2," reports are saying that the game will most likely come out in September of 2017. It should be noted that the first "Destiny" game came out September 2014. Only a little information was said about the game, but Design Lead Lars Bakken wrote this on the Bungie blog: "We'll be plotting more specific waypoints as time goes on. Right now, there are hundreds of passionate people at Bungie working to turn the plan for Destiny's future into the adventures, dangerous enemies, and glittering treasures that await us. As soon as we're ready, we'll share the details with you in all the usual places."

"Destiny: Rise of Iron" will come out this September, and "Destiny 2" will allegedly be released next year.
