'Dragon Ball Super' episode 42 spoilers update: Goku takes a beating from the 'weak' Monaka?

The tournament may be over and won, but there's one battle left for Goku to fight and this showdown will take place in "Dragon Ball Super" episode 42.

The episode is titled "The Chaotic Victory Party! A Showdown at Last?! Monaka vs. Son Goku." The warriors are in festive mood after their wishes got all granted by the Super Dragon Balls, but the atmosphere changes when a fight ensues between Goku and Monaka.

Over the course of the Champa arc in "Dragon Ball Super," Monaka never got the chance to fight and show what he is really capable of or if he is even close to what Beerus is saying about him being the most powerful warrior in Universe 7.

In the last "Dragon Ball Super" episode, it was revealed that Monaka is not as strong as Beerus is making him out to be. The god of destruction depicted him as his trump card simply to motivate Goku and Vegeta to fight harder.

It certainly does not look like it in the teaser for "Dragon Ball Super" episode 42, because Monaka was giving Goku a run for his money. When Goku first met Monaka, he wished to have a sparring match with him. Seeing the clip, the Saiyan got what he wanted.

But Goku should have been warned to be careful what he wishes for, because in the "Dragon Ball Super" preview, Monaka lands a punch so strong, it throws him off balance.

Goku and Monaka battle intensely above ground. For the occasion, the latter wore a cape and a Satan Gym belt, which may be a clue to who he really is.

If the promo is any indication, Monaka has some power in him. It might not exactly be super strength, but he appears to be inclined at something that "Dragon Ball Super" episode 42 should reveal soon.

"Dragon Ball Super" episode 42 "The Chaotic Victory Party! A Showdown at Last?! Monaka vs. Son Goku" will air on Sunday, May 8, at 9 a.m. Japan time on Fuji TV.
