'Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2' release date news: Game announced, coming this winter 2016 in Japan
Good news awaits for all the fans of the fighting role-playing video game "Dragon Ball Xenoverse." The sequel is coming to town but it will be making its way to its homeland Japan first. The release date has been announced as well.

According to a report by Forbes, "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" will be hitting Japanese store shelves this coming winter season. However, publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment has not disclosed the specific date yet so fans will have to stay tuned for further updates which are expected to be revealed soon. iDigital Times detailed that more information will be provided to the public at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) scheduled on June 14 to 16.
There's no specific date yet as well for the western release but Kotaku cited that the game will be coming to platforms PS4, Xbox One and PC. Reports say that unlike the western version, the one that will be coming to Japan will be exclusive to PS4. It only makes sense though as the dominant platform in the country is PS4. And if the release date history of the game is to be followed, "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" may also be arriving this winter in North America.
The original game in the series first came to Japan on Feb. 5, 2015. It wasn't long until they released the game in America which took place on Feb. 24 and Feb. 27. Fans from North America and Europe can only hope that the pattern will be the same this time for the sequel.
There's a lot in store for those who will be picking up a copy of the game. Sources noted that the second installment will be somewhat similar to the first game wherein players will be able to travel through time and surpass challenges in the "Dragon Ball" narrative. The first game also allowed players to choose from Saiyans, Majin, Namekians and Earthlings. It's not certain yet if it will be the same in the sequel. Fans will have to watch out for more info soon.
