'Fast and Furious 8' cast news, spoilers: First look at Agent Hobbs; The Rock's character getting a spinoff?

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has started filming "Fast and Furious 8" and has been enjoying the experience so far. He recently posted a photo of him in full-on Agent Luke Hobbs mode.

Hobbs looked ripped and ready for action. With his game face on, it would be a big mistake for anyone to cross the monstrous warrior. The Rock teases that in "Fast and Furious 8," his character will "return to his roots," which he described as "dangerous and twisted."

"If I was going to return for another FAST & FURIOUS, I wanted to come in and disrupt the franchise in a cool way that got fans fired up and their blood pumping to see a new version of Hobbs and his 'Daddy's gotta go to work' mentality and set the table in a cool way for where the character goes in the future," Johnson wrote.

Johnson always had a vision of what his character would be like in "Fast and Furious 8." The actor teased in the past that Hobbs will be a beast, but one still with a funny bone.

The actor also mentioned the rumored "Fast and Furious" spinoff featuring Hobbs, but it appears that he himself still does not know where his character will go next or a solo Hobbs film will happen in the future.

Days ago, "Fast and Furious 8" consulting producer Hiram Garcia spoke to Comicbook.com about his massive love for the Hobbs character, which he created with writer Chris Morgan and The Rock himself.

"The scheduling of it all is a challenge but there are always talks about a potential spinoff movie and what we can do with it," Garcia said.

He added that there's "a real goal" to these discussions and that there's a lot of material developed for the character waiting to be translated into a full-on "Fast and Furious" spinoff.

However, for now, a spinoff is mere possibility. As fans wait for the Hobbs spinoff to become a reality, Garcia teased that "Fast and Furious 8" is definitely worth checking out for Hobbs fans since it will flesh out the brute agent more.

Johnson also promised that fans will "really dig" the "new version" Hobbs in "Fast and Furious 8" simply because "as we always say, disrupters dent the universe."

"Fast and Furious 8" will be in cinemas April 14, 2017.
